DAVID- At 26 years old, David has been in the industry for almost 10 years:
Now preparing to join his next yacht, he reads the MSCB crew “Joining Checklist” on www.mscb.im and realises that the medical insurance plans provided by both his current and future employer, though extensive at first sight, do not provide all of the cover he wants.
More worryingly, he will be without any cover during his month’s shore leave between jobs.
He contacts MSCB who arrange international medical insurance that covers him anywhere in the world, including the USA. He also takes the opportunity to buy additional low-cost cover guaranteeing an income should he be disabled and unable to work.
So he goes on leave, safe in the knowledge that he’s planned for every eventuality.

JOHN - Take 30 year old John for example:
Newly married, John wants to start a family and buy a house but intends to stay at sea.
With these new responsibilities, he reviews his current insurance plans and realises that, although he has extensive coverage, he isn’t covered should an accident occur denying him pursuing his career. He felt his heart sink at the thought of this happening and the effect on his family. He was worried sick but he had heard about MSCB and hoped that maybe they could help.
Once he contacted MSCB, he realised just how easy it was to sort things out. They arranged a comprehensive policy to cover him in case of temporary or total disability.
Once that’s done, he returned to duty comfortable that if an accident occurred, he’s guaranteed an income for up to two years or should that accident mean he can no longer work, he receives up to 5 years salary as a lump sum.
